Born in Ohio in 1982, Jocelyn Casdorph currently lives in Phoenix and primarily grew up in Orlando, where her face and body painting profession began. A gifted student at a fine art magnet high school, Jocelyn learned an array of artistic mediums. At 17, she was hired by the international face painting company Enjoy Your Face Inc. as an after school job, and her natural aptitude for the medium placed her on the companyís training team alongside ìWolfe Brothersî duo Nick and Brian Wolfe. She was an early influential designer on the team that helped morph face and body painting into what it is today. During her 11 years with EYF, Jocelyn worked as a full-time face painter, trainer, lead designer, model, and assistant manager for operations around the globe. Some of these locations include Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood, Universal's Islands of Adventure, and Sea World. Jocelyn was thrice sent on assignment to train others on face and body painting at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, equaling a year abroad in total. In spite of the language barrier, teaching new employees how to paint wonderful creations on their faces unified everyone and created a shared passion for the art form. While in Japan, Jocelyn dove deeper into the world of body painting. Her striking work garnered national attention through acclaimed industry publications like ìIllusion Magazineî and body art centric websites like ìBrushstrokes Magazineî. She was a contributing artist and model for two instructional books which had a high impact on the industry called ìCreative Face Paintingî and ìFunky Facesî, and taught at the Face and Body Art International Convention. Jocelyn also earned an IMDB movie credit for her make-up work in the independent movie ìSea Legsî. Jocelyn moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and helped create the face and body painting team at Universal Studios, Hollywood over a 4 year span. Around this time, renowned cosplayers, actors, fashion designers, and celebrities often called on Jocelyn to enhance their Academy Award after parties, private special events, and photo shoots. In 2010, Jocelyn moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and created her own company, Arizona Face Painting. Body painting at local clubs and face painting at birthday parties quickly evolved and expanded into larger venues, corporate events, and city-wide parties throughout the southwest such as the Chandler Ostrich Festival, Glendale Glitters Holiday Weekends, and Tempe Art Festival. Jocelyn regularly travels to LA for various events, including large scale body paintings for the Playboy Golf Tournament and Mansion. This year, she was accepted at the Arizona State Fair, which has over one million visitors. Jocelyn has been featured on local ABC and NBC television affiliates a number of times and her commissioned body painting was featured on the front cover of the ìPhoenix New Timesî 2012 Centennial Issue. In September of 2014, she was invited to be a face and body painting instructor at the Bay Area Face and Body Art (BAYFABA) convention held in San Francisco, where she trained others on tattoo style body paintings and the elements of proportion. Many of her original designs and techniques are still being used and taught, and her evolving artistic style has left a lasting impact on world of face and body painting. Throughout 15 years of face and body painting, Jocelyn is grateful for all the amazing opportunities she has had, and continues to look forward to what the future may hold.
